Glethad asks, "Any questions, before I begin where I
left off?"
Speaking to Glethad, Kiske says, "Evening
Curator."
Glethad says, "We come now, to Drangell.".
Glethad says, "Drangell was once a giantman mercenary employed,
in secret, by an unknown faction within the Turamzyrrian Empire."
Glethad says, "Along with Thrayzar, who was at the
time, a human."
Glethad says, "One their last mission together, they
were sent to assassinate a witch. With her death rattle, she cursed them both.
One to take the form of an orc, the other a troll."
Glethad says, "That is how Drangell was born. He was
near unstoppable, his curse enhanced the powers of even trollsblood.".
Glethad says, "Eventually, it took an army of dwarves
to subdue him and when they did, they trapped him inside of a fiery rune
prison, where he was in a constant state of...well, burning alive."
Glethad says, "This prison was kept far beneath an old
ruined castle, where he remained for decades."
Glethad says, "Until minions of Grishom's were led to
the fortress, where they released him."
Glethad says, "While I am not certain of every name who
was involved, there is speculation, and likely very true."
Glethad says, "Their absence tonight, is likely more
proof."
Glethad says, "Ah..."
Glethad says, "Nevermind."
Glethad says, "It seems the rain has washed up every
last rat."
Speaking quietly to Glethad, Demyse warns,
"Careful."
Glethad says, "Grishom learned of Drangell, from his
time torturing Thrayzar.".
Glethad says, "Which..."
Glethad says, "Oddly enough, our town pulled the orc
into the struggle to begin with."
Glethad says, "As payment for his release, Grishom
demanded Drangell attack Wehnimer's Landing."
Glethad says, "He had only one stipulation."
Glethad says, "Destroy it."
Glethad says, "So it was that Drangell, in his troll
form, soon gathered an army to his command."
Glethad says, "His trolls marched on Wehnimer's Landing
and put it under siege for over a month."
Glethad says, "Griffins took to the skies, snatching
people from the streets, trolls threw themselves at the walls and gates,
slaughtering our people...."
Glethad says, "Thrayzar's orcs came to the town's aid
during this time as well, as Drangell had sought out his clan as well, and
tried to slaughter them."
Glethad says, "In quite a controversy, Mayor Walkar,
who is no stranger to such, set up encampments outside of town, for the
orcs."
Glethad says, "Which did not go over well with the
Sunfist zealots."
Glethad coughs.
Glethad says, "A traveling Tehir band also arrived at
this time, and aided the town in skirmishes against the trolls."
Glethad says, "There was a very dark time during the
siege...that the shadows snatched many children from their homes, or as they
fled the carnage in the streets."
Glethad says, "I..I say this..."
Glethad says, "And revisit it, because you must
understand the enemy we face."
Glethad says, "His cruelty has no limit."
Speaking to Glethad, Sarvia says, "No it does
not."
Glethad says, "The children were found the next day,
impaled on stakes outside of the town...."
Glethad says, "When the militia arrived to take down
the gruesome scene...the children's bodies became encasedi in ghastly red
cocoons."
Glethad says, "The cocoons floated above the town for
days, impervious to magic or steel, and children's wails could be heard every
night."
Glethad says, "Grishom's magic had encased those
children, and it was his dark magic that eventually transformed those poor
innocent lives into winged, fiendish creatures, that burst forth to attack the
town for days straight."
Glethad says, "Akhash, one of the Tehir, their powerful
shaman, aided the town in magically dispelling the rest of the cocoons, saving
any more transformations from happening. But it did not save any of the
children inside."
Glethad says, "During the troll siege, Grishom once
again tried to promote himself."
.
Glethad says, "By providing supplies to the town
militia, restocking the ballista towers, anything to make himself the
hero."
Glethad says, "Even as trolls battered the town's walls
and gates, demons sprung up in town. The defenses were dwindling."
Glethad says, "So in another, questionable move, Mayor
Walkar and the Tehir shaman, Akhash, brokered a deal with the spirit of
Estrion."
Glethad says, "I see an ongoing theme here. Deals tend
to only lead to more problems."
Glethad says, "Using Estrion's powers, the Tehir were
able to place wards over our town, keeping Grishom's powers from springing
enemies up out of nowhere."
Glethad says, "It helped the town to refocus their
energies to defending the walls and manning the gates."
Glethad says, "Eventually the battle was won on the
side of Wehnimer's, as Drangell's troll curse was broken by our town's
defenders and the tehir."
Glethad says, "While in hindsight, it might have been
best to put him down then like a rabid dog..."
Glethad says, "Drangell was escorted off to the
Wehnimer's prison and locked up."
Glethad shakes his head.
Glethad says, "Unfortunately, our mayor wasn't eating
prisoners back then."
Speaking to Glethad, Sovine says, "Drangell might be
the best resource this town has."
Seomanthe says, "Walkar did already try to put him
down, he is deathless."
Glethad says, "Drangell was interrogated, but offered
no information to incriminate Stone."
Glethad says, "So he remained locked away."
Glethad says, "The troll army was weakened and
disbanded and the town was..."safe"."
Glethad says, "The troll army was gone, Thrayzar's
people left to find a new home, away from human persecution, and Grishom was
set back once more."
Glethad asks, "Any questions before I proceed?"
Neelin quietly says, "I have a question."
Glethad nods at Neelin.
Neelin quietly asks, "With all the alchemical
advancements of all sorts, extreme potions have been crafted to transform
curses. Why was a potion not made to break the curse that changed the two into
an orc and a troll?"
Puptilian says, "Drangell isn't a troll
anymore..."
Greganth says, "A cure was discovered, Thrayzar refused
it."
Naraz says, "A better question is whether or not
Drangell would want to be transformed."
Glethad says, "Yes, Drangell's curse was broken, as he
is now a giantman. But his...immortality? It remains."
Neelin quietly says, "That's not what I asked."
Glethad says, "A ritual was discovered to reverse it,
and Thrayzar refused."
Neelin quietly exclaims, "I asked why it wasn't
researched THEN. THEN, when it would have mattered most!"
Glethad says, "Time wasn't really..on their side."
Speaking to Neelin, Kiske says, "It probably was
researched but the answers weren't found until later."
Greganth says, "When Drangell and Thrayzar returned to
their service, after being cursed, they were spurned."
Speaking to Neelin, Sovine says, "Because there not
elves, they don live as long as we do an they sometimes lack the
foresight."
Glethad says, "Hunted, even."
Glethad says, "Regardless, a ritual was discovered, it
was forced upon Drangell, and Thrayzar refused it."
Glethad says, "Now we come to the next part of
Grishom's plans."
Glethad says, "Implode the city on itself."
Glethad says, "Mayor Walkar began to take some
considerable heat following the troll siege."
Glethad asks, "Imagine if they knew then what they know
now?"
Glethad smirks.
Glethad says, "But his questionable actions such as, an
alliance with some orcs..."
Glethad says, "Making a deal with Estrion.."
Glethad says, "Some begin to question if this man, born
in Jantalar, really was fit to lead."
.
Glethad says, "There was a local huntsman in town,
Colson, and he has lost his son, who was a member of the town militia."
Glethad says, "His son was one of the men killed by
Thrayzar, back when he was originally tracking Mirayam."
Glethad says, "Walkar had pardoned the orc of course,
which did not go over well with Colson, who felt his son's death was...."
Glethad says, "Not important really."
Speaking to Glethad, Sarvia says, "In some ways it is,
it has a lot to do with with Walkar's guilt."
Glethad says, "So Colson rallied some angry and worried
townspeople to his cause, and even formed a petition to have Walkar removed
from office."
Galdreth seems a bit less imposing.
Glethad says, "Of course, Barnom Slim was still a councilman,
who hated Walkar, so he helped to push such options along."
Glethad says, "Of course, in typical Landing style, a
counter petition was formed in support of Walkar."
Glethad says, "The petition to remove Walkar failed to
meet the required signatures, so he remained in office."
Glethad says, "Not wanting to accept defeat, Colson
formed an underground movement, which called themselves the Landing
Liberators."
Glethad says, "They even made bracers, I heard it was
cute."
Glethad smirks.
Glethad says, "They would meet in the basement of some
merchant shops, who were also on the anti-Walkar wagon."
Glethad says, "Signs were even put up around town,
calling for Walkar's resignation, protesting his mere presence.".
Glethad says, "And once again, in Landing fashion,
pro-Walkar pins were handed out to battle the propoganda."
Glethad says, "Some here, still wear them."
Glethad says, "Some here, might regret them."
Glethad says, "During this so called uprising of angry
town citizens, we were not without the ongoing danger."
Glethad says, "Storms brought demons, death worms,
golems...and the like."
Glethad says, "One eve, a wagon was ambushed outside of
town. When it was investigated, some bandits were discovered nearby, wearing
pro-Walkar pins."
Glethad says, "We learned that the wagon had carried
Luukosian Deathwort."
Glethad says, "And of course, it was made to believe
Walkar had the poison stolen."
Glethad says, "...as if bandits would wear pro-Walkar
pins so blatantly."
Glethad shakes his head.
Glethad says, "So Grishom re-opened the new museum
renovations..."
Glethad says, "Frontier Days was kicking off..."
Glethad says, "All seemed well...."
Glethad says, "And on the last night of Frontier Days
5111....Grishom Stone was offering merchant services for a crowd well over four
dozen people..."
Glethad says, "When a man in the crowd, tossed down a
crimson orb and ran off. The orb exploded, killing almost everyone."
Glethad says, "It came to be learned later that the man
was called Vaurus, an ex-militia member of the town."
Glethad says, "Soon the uprising against Walkar broke
into violence."
Glethad says, "The "liberators" set shops to
fire."
Glethad says, "Many local merchants even closed up shop,
such as Dakris and Kilron.".
Glethad says, "In protest of Walkar."
Glethad says, "Threats in blood were smeared on the
walls of Moot Hall, and even on Mirayam's statue."
Glethad says, "Citizens turned on each other, as angry
mobs beat and killed guards in the streets."
Glethad says, "Pure chaos."
Delok smirks.
Jynai quietly says, "Fun times."
Glethad asks, "Familiar?"
Glethad says, "In a town meeting, between Walkar and
local citizens, a robed summoner appeared. It was Nysorm."
Glethad asks, "Do you all remember Nysorm, from last
evening's tale?"
Glethad says, "This was when the town finally learned
more of the Arcane Eyes, as Nysorm recounted their origins."
Glethad says, "And he allied with the heroes, promising
to help end Grishom, for the death of Arleasta."
Glethad says, "Nysorm then introduced the town to the
fact that Elithain Cross was indeed alive still, but in hiding, from
Grishom.".
Glethad says, "So Nysorm agreed to try to find
Elithain, and connect with him as a means to hopefully finally stop
Grishom."
Glethad says, "The town continued to burn and attack
itself, people turning on each other, all because of a mayor..."
Glethad says, "Now a group of guards broke up a Landing
liberators meeting in Tykel's basement, and arrested the lot of them. Tykel
threatened to close up shop, but Councilman Juramis convinced him otherwise."
Glethad says, "Vaurus continued to torment the town
with his exploding orbs, targeting town center, the park, many populated
areas."
Glethad says, "Even a bounty was put out on his head,
and in time he was apprehended in Moot Hall, trying to blow up Walkar's office.
Before he could be interrogated, his body was consumed in shadowy flames."
Glethad asks, "Familiar?"
Glethad says, "Lord Stone, ever self serving,
"convinced" Dakris to re-open the furrier."
Glethad says, "The violence in the city, was not
Colson's plans."
Glethad says, "Which of course, was Grishom's
plans.".
Glethad says, "So Colson met with Walkar and many of
the town defenders and tossed down his bracer, officially leaving the
"liberators"."
Glethad says, "He promised to speak with the Liberators
to try to work out some truce and end the violence."
Glethad says, "As the violence continued to grow one
night, Walkar lost his temper, stormed off and swore he'd end it all."
Glethad says, "In the typical Walkar fashion."
Glethad says, "It is claimed he even attacked some citizens,
who were protesting.".
Glethad says, "Townspeople saw a body fly out of Mayor
Walkar's office and land in the street. It was Colson, a jagged wound in his
chest, and black veins around the wound. Evidence of Deathwort."
Glethad says, "When guards and defenders arrive in the
office, they found Walkar passed out onthe floor, his axe bloodied and next to
him."
Glethad says, "Walkar was then arrested for Colson's
murder."
Glethad says, "Which of course, any logical person,
knew he was framed."
Glethad says, "Now,in the following days, some masked
individuals broke into the prison and freed Walkar, and he escaped and fled
town."
Glethad says, "I am unsure of the indentity of these
heroes."
Speaking to Glethad, Ravashaak says, "Safe to say some
are nearby."
Glethad says, "However, with the absence of Walkar,
Barnom was appointed as the interim mayor."
Naraz asks, "Doesn't breaking him out look bad if he
wasn't actually guilty?"
Glethad nods at Naraz.
Glethad says, "Slim, as the new interim mayor, declared
Walkar and his orc ally Thrayzar enemies of the town, and any found aiding them
would be dealt with swiftly."
Glethad says, "The town violence ended almost over
night, as Walkar was finally gone."
Glethad says, "It seemed all had finally played into
Grishom's hands. Except, he still sought something."
Glethad says, "The shards of urnon that were left from
Mirayam's destruction."
Glethad says, "They were secretly hidden away from a
few protectors, but Grishom sought these chunks of urnon to try to use them to
recreate his original ritual."
Glethad says, "So the town was in relative peace, now
run by Slim, and Walkar was a fugitive."
Glethad says, "Grishom was only a few steps away from
his goal."
Glethad asks, "Any questions before I go on?"
Glethad asks, "No?"
Jara says, "Not at the moment apparently,
curator."
Glethad says, "Either I am boring, or very good."
Speaking to Glethad, Puptilian says, "Not boring at
all."
Glethad nods.
Glethad says, "There is still much to cover, so I will
try to move quickly."
Calael raises his hand.
Glethad asks, "Yes Calael?"
Calael says, "What was Grishom's goal? My apologies if I should know this."
Glethad says, "It will become more clear in the coming
part, but essentially he wanted to recreate his urnon golem.".
Glethad says, "As he felt to do so, would usher in his
ascension to true power beyond the Arkati."
Glethad says, "I take us now to Jastatos 5111..."
Glethad says, "Slim, the interim mayor, made a public
announcement declaring Elithain Cross was the leader of the Arcane Eyes, and
was the true master and threat to the town."
Glethad says, "Which, of course people thought was a
ruse by Grishom."
Glethad says, "Which is was, but now looking
back...it's also truth as well."
Glethad says, "Ironic, isn't it.".
Glethad says, "Grishom's minions continued to assault
the town in many ways, even a wall of bones blocked off Ronan's Shrine for a
time."
Glethad says, "And wasps and bats would attack
townspeople, draining their blood."
Glethad says, "Which, blood is ever the tool for our
enemy."
Glethad says, "It was all a build up to his next
ritual, which Grishom did not have the luxury of killing hundreds of women in a
matter of years."
Glethad says, "So desperate times...."
Glethad says, "Now, Khylon, the town marshal, had a
number of dwarven mercenaries who were helping to enhance the town militia.
Slim had the mercenaries sent packing."
Glethad says, "So control over the town was even
tighter.".
Glethad says, "Slim even demanded Akhash, the Tehir
shaman, dispel his ward over the town."
Glethad says, "Claiming they did not trust Estrion's
magic."
Glethad says, "Of course, the shaman knew better, so boldly
denied Slim and kept the wards in place."
Glethad says, "As the year began to reach it's end, a
woman named Elisyia went missing. She was the daughter of a local blacksmith."
Yangh monotonously says, "Sure would be funny if Varsus
were still alive to show up with one of those orbs right now."
Glethad says, "The town searched many hours for her,
but to no avail. Days later, two bone pillars appeared in the environs. They
looked like giant skeletal fingers, reaching to the sky."
Glethad glances at Yangh.
Glethad says, "You are alone in your sentiments of
humor, and tact.".
Speaking monotonously to Glethad, Yangh says, "A fact
of which I am aware. As long as my
enjoyment comes first, it is good."
Glethad asks, "Were those your vows to Slim?"
Glethad peers quizzically at Yangh.
Yinh looks around as if waking up from a dream.
Speaking monotonously to Glethad, Yangh says, "This is
a time of truths is it not? Perhaps you
should speak that of which you know, not which you speculate."
Glethad asks, "Is this section of my tale difficult to
listen too?"
Glethad smiles.
Speaking to Glethad, Yinh says, "Not really."
Glethad says, "Back to the tale..."
Glethad says, "Interim mayor Slim then decided to
declare urnon was illegal, demanding any citizen possessing the metal to turn
it over."
Glethad says, "Even if they were suspected of having
urnon, citizens could be arrested and searched."
Glethad says, "All of this was designed to try to
locate the shards Grishom so desperately wanted."
Glethad says, "Slim explained that he wanted to protect
the urnon from the summoners, and would keep it secreted away until the threat
was over."
Glethad says, "Which...ironically, isn't much different
from recent events."
Glethad glances around the room.
Glethad says, "And both then and now, were wrong."
Glethad says, "A group of townspeople stormed Stone's
bathhouse and tried to break into his office, and they claimed he had urnon
inside. Councilman Juramis broke up the mob, clearly protecting Stone. Juramis
claimed he'd bring it up to the council to investigate."
Glethad says, "The next day Grishom offered to allow
people inside of his office, of which they found no urnon."
Glethad says, "Surprising."
Glethad asks, "Is Riend...?"
Glethad shakes his head.
Glethad says, "No, I do not see her."
Sarvia says, "No she isn't present.".
Glethad says, "Akhash and Grishom met with some
townspeople, and discussed a possible way to finally rid Riend of the spirit of
Madelyne."
Glethad says, "Many warned Akhash that he might be
playing right into a trap. But the shaman was ever confident."
Tykeara asks, "Scuse me, but I missed something...who
was Madelyne? was she the
daughter?"
Seomanthe nods at Tykeara.
Speaking to Tykeara, Sarvia says, "Cross's
daughter."
Tykeara nods at Sareyna.
Glethad says, "Juramis and Slim were one eve outside of
Moot Hall, and accused the Silver Gryphons of plotting to assassinate Slim. A
letter was pulled from Sir Brinn's coat, detailing the Knights' plans. Cryheart
and Brinn were publically hanged."
Glethad asks, "I believe your stronghold was even
closed down?"
Glethad peers quizzically at Cryheart.
Cryheart gazes heavenward.
Cryheart nods at Glethad.
Glethad asks, "Pending an investigation?"
Cryheart nods.
Glethad nods.
Cryheart says, "Still has the sign....but which should
remain for my Order as a reminder of evil."
Glethad says, "Slowly, Stone worked to weaken his
enemies, as evident by the framing of the Gryphons."
Glethad says, "In protect of Slim's clear manipulation,
some local heroes even held a mock "funeral" for justice."
Glethad says, "Carting coffins through town, and even
Slim effigies were burned on the Festival of Frost grounds."
Glethad says, "At the bonfire.".
Glethad says, "Earl Jovery, the Northern Sentinel
issued a stern warning to the Landing, to clear the name of the Gryphons, and
if such was not righted soon, imperial soldiers would be sent to secure the
town."
Glethad says, "Slim's antics and Stone's meddling
threatened to drag the Empire to the frontier."
Glethad says, "All around, townspeople were taking
sides."
Glethad says, "Even Helga and her crew had made
anti-Slim and anti-Juramis signs, and the tables seemed to be turned, and
repeating themselves."
Glethad says, "Slim had the Gryphon stronghold closed
down, and demanded loyalty from the Drakes Vanguard and the Black Wolves.".
Glethad says, "He was rejected, even though the Black
Wolves tried to broker some kind of peace."
Glethad says, "Around that time...another woman went
missing. One of Helga's barmaids."
Glethad says, "Days later, a third bone pillar
appeared, this one on the Glatoph."
Glethad says, "While the other two were on the coastal
cliffs, and also trollfang.".
Glethad says, "It was sometime later that Nysorm
returned, claiming to have found Cross. Some defenders joined him, and they
located him in an abandoned library among the icy peaks of the
Dragonspine."
Glethad says, "Once discovered, Elithain pledged his
alliance with the heroes, to defeat Stone, but he would need a scepter to aid
in his plans. Later he would return, and the heroes helped him retrieve
it."
Glethad says, "It was said this scepter would weaken
Stone long enough to stop him."
Glethad says, "During the retrieval of the scepter, it
was originally held by..."
Glethad points at Ravashaak.
Speaking to Glethad, Ravashaak asks, "Who me?"
Glethad says, "And originally refused to hand it over
to Cross."
Glethad says, "Which you know, hindsight..."
Glethad says, "Ironic now."
Glethad says, "A fourth woman had then gone missing,
Tykel's niece."
Glethad says, "And her fate, the same as the
rest."
Glethad says, "And a bone pillar soon after."
Glethad says, "4 women, 4 pillars."
Glethad says, "The fith one came from Bridonna, the
curator before...me."
Glethad says, "She was seduced by Grishom, and they
were seen about town for a few weeks, before her demise."
Glethad says, "And..."
Glethad glances at Greganth.
Greganth smirks.
Greganth says, "She was killed."
Glethad says, "Grishom detailed some of his
sacrifices....with great fervor."
Glethad says, "He wrote in length about you sir."
Glethad nods at Greganth.
Greganth says, "Words of a madman."
Glethad says, "Tonight is a night of truths."
Glethad asks, "Have you none to share?"
Glethad peers quizzically at Greganth.
Greganth says, "Very well."
Glethad says, "Remember, secrets lie in the
shadows."
Glethad says, "To hold them, you merely dance with the
enemy."
Speaking heartily to Glethad, Dasmik asks, "Weren't you
the one that had us keep secretis from the council?"
Glethad glances at Dasmik.
Greganth says, "She would not."
Greganth says, "I went to her side, and tried to pull
her away from him.. but the shadows took contorl of my hand, and he smiled that
devlish smile at me, as my own sword took her life."
Glethad nods at Greganth.
Glethad says, "It is important we understand our
enemy."
Glethad says, "His power lies in emotions, in betrayal,
in chaos."
Speaking monotonously to Glethad, Yangh says, "You
belittle those of us you know not what was spoken, yet you encourage those who
would take another's life. An interesting game you play, curator."
Speaking to Yinh, Greganth says, "It was never a secret
that he used me to kill her, speaking it aloud does not change that fact."
Glethad says, "With Bridonna's sacrifice, the fifth
pillar appeared a day later."
Speaking to Glethad, Sarvia says, "You're doing
fine."
Speaking to Greganth, Yinh says, "Ahh Glethad made it
sound like it was."
Greganth says, "It was not my will, I bear no guilt,
nor blame, even though it often reminds me of the deed."
Glethad says, "Many of us have come too close to the
shadows, enough to hold guilt in some form or another."
Glethad says, "Grishom and Akhash then revealed they
had crafted a potion to aid in a ritual to free Madelyne's spirit from
Riend."
Glethad says, "The ritual was successful, but Grishom
used his magic to temporarily stun Akhash and once Madelyne's spirit was free,
he trapped her within his rune dagger. The same blade he had used on her
before."
Glethad says, "He was about to kill Riend, when Akhash
broke the stun and protected her, sending Grishom fleeing."
Glethad says, "All the while, half of the town watched
the ritual from far, so Grishom's true self was finally revealed."
Glethad says, "No more questions."
Glethad says, "That was also when Stone's study was
discovered under the bathhouse."
Glethad says, "Where the book of blood magic lies
now."
Glethad says, "The bone pillars around Wehnimer's were
activated, and launched forth devastating magic that shattered Estrion's wards
over the town, opening up the city to Stone's magic."
Glethad says, "Women began to hear a man's voice,
charming them and leading them to the museum. There...."
Glethad's face turns slightly pale.
Glethad says, "In the lobby..."
Glethad says, "...Stone..he..."
Glethad says, "He summoned dozens of women, and
enthralled them."
Glethad says, "He led them all through a portal he
opened, and closed before any could stop him."
Glethad says, "It was later learned that these women
were led to his island, that blood....demon island, where they were sacrificed
as part of his new ritual."
Glethad says, "However, Akhash was able to trace
Grishom's magic, and opened his own portal to the blood isle."
Glethad says, "For weeks, war raged between our town
and the blood isle."
Glethad says, "Grishom even created flesh golems in his
own likeness."
Glethad says, "And marched armies of them to attack the
town."
Glethad says, "In Lormesta of 5112..."
Glethad says, "Walkar had just returned."
Glethad says, "But now, he wore the red breastplate he
has today."
Glethad says, "We know now that Walkar sought a means
to end Stone, but ended up being hunted and killed by Grishom and a demon in
the process. Or at least, within moments of death...."
Glethad says, "Cross arrived in his last moments,
offering that..unholy armor to Walkar."
Glethad says, "A claimed gift, to help Walkar finish
the fight."
Glethad says, "Walkar returned to us, and the final
battle was waged on the blood isle."
Glethad says, "Elithain used the spiritual energy of
many present to fuel a sphere of energy that he would later use to temporarily
stun Grishom."
Glethad says, "Everyone had learned that the isle and
Stone were connected, that the bond between them created Grishom's
immortality."
Glethad says, "Neither could be destroyed, unless the
bond was broken, or blocked.".
Glethad says, "Grishom was discovered deep within a
hall of pure urnon, in the depths of the blood isle. Hundreds of women corpses
lie scattered around an altar and an urnon statue."
Glethad says, "The heroes arrived, with Elithain,
Walkar and Nysorm, and Grishom was surprisingly thwarted quite easily, left
stunned in mid-ritual."
Glethad says, "Elithain then used his scepter to turn
Grishom into...ironic I know...a stone statue."
Glethad says, "In that moment, Elithain sent a blast of
energy to knock everyone down, immobilizing them as he snatched up the rune
dagger and completed Stone's ritual himself, transferring Madelyne into the new
urnon."
Glethad says, "All along, two villains had toyed with
everyone."
Glethad says, "Elithain doub..."
Glethad says, "Elithain escaped through a portal with
his new urnon golem weapon, leaving everyone behind."
Glethad says, "I am uncertain if Nysorm fled with him,
or escaped with the others. None recall what happened with him, at least that I
have spoken too."
Glethad says, "Once everyone was able to move, the
stone statue of Grishom was destroyed and broken into hundreds of pieces of
stone, leaving behind the rubble and only two blue crystallized eyes."
Glethad says, "With Grishom "gone"....the
defenders continued through the bloody tunnels of the island and found a giant
beating heart."
Glethad says, "It was destroyed in time, and the island
began to fall apart, leaving everyone at risk of being killed."
Glethad says, "They barely escaped and returned to
Wehnimer's, the threat, for the time being, over."
Glethad says, "Juramis left the town council,
apologizing to the town for being tricked by Grishom."
Glethad says, "Barnom Slim had fled town, emptying out
the city's coffers."
Glethad says, "And Walkar had been reappointed as
Mayor."
Glethad says, "That brings us to the end."
Glethad says, "We have had many troubles since,
with..."
Glethad says, "The Star of Khar'ta."
Glethad smiles.
Glethad says, "And even Slim's return as a lich."
Glethad says, "Each most recently, and I will not
recount this eve."
Kiske stands up.
Glethad asks, "Any questions?"
Oritori raises his hand.
Speaking to Glethad, Oritori asks, "This one is for
real. The shadow to which Grishom had
allied himself with in his Arcane Eye leadership, has it a name?"
Glethad nods at Oritori.
Glethad says, "Althedeus."
Glethad says, "I do not think so."
Speaking to Glethad, Puptilian asks, "Since you mention
Althedeus many times. Have you study him
at all?"
Glethad says, "But I believe now, that the shadows that
once controlled Stone, now control Cross."
Speaking curiously to Glethad, Cruxophim asks, "In your
study of Grishom's tomes, did you... happen to come across any rituals or such
that outline anything similar to the... orchard currently behind Moot
Hall? Anything of a -- pardon the pun --
similar vein?"
Glethad says, "I also believe Grishom....may still be
alive....and might have sought to overpower even the shadows."
Glethad says, "I have not."
Glethad looks over at Cruxophim and shakes his head.
Curator Glethad just went through a brass archway.
